このことは半島の歴史を紐解けば一目瞭然です。
特に横須賀は、正真正銘の軍都でした。しかも、全国有数の。
しかし、現在、これら戦争遺跡の多くは日常の風景の中に溶け込んでいて、意識しなければそうとは気づかないでしょう。
そんな、戦争遺跡の姿を、歴史や背景とともに紹介していきます。
戦争遺跡は平和の語り部なのです。
私たちは、戦争遺跡の宝庫であるこの地域には戦争を語り継ぐ責任があると考えています。
もっと、関心を持ってもらいたいと思います。
歴史は繰り返します、しかし、歴史から学ぶことによって変えることはできる筈です。
私たちの活動が、戦争や平和について考えるきっかけになれば幸いです。
平和の語り部プロジェクト
Miura Peninsula which is located in Southern part of Kanagawa Prefecture is full of war ruins.
It is very obvious once you dig into the history of the Peninsula.
Specifically speaking, Yokosuka was genuinely a military town. What is more, it was one of the foremost in Japan.
Today, most of the ruins are so well blended into everyday life that they hardly are recognizable unless you intentionally look for them. We will introduce such war ruins along with their histories and background.
War ruins are storyteller of peace. We believe that the locals in this area are responsible for handing down war stories to the next generation.
We would like you to have more interest in them.
History repeats itself. However, we can make a change by learning lessons from the history.
It is our hope that our activities act as a trigger to your thoughts for more on war and peace.
